Regarding Dakis

Dakimakura Shipping Update – A Message From the Team

TL;DR: Our previous manufacturer failed to deliver and we are currently unable to recover the funds. We are reordering with our original trusted supplier despite much higher tariffs, which means little to no profit on our side. Your dakimakura will still be produced and shipped. New orders are still open and help us a lot with cashflow.

What Happened

A couple of months ago, we partnered with a new dakimakura manufacturer. They appeared reputable and assured us they could complete the full batch within 3–4 weeks. Based on their professionalism and industry presence, we trusted their promise and placed the order.

However, as the weeks went by, the delivery date kept getting pushed back. 8 weeks passed, and despite our repeated follow-ups, we received nothing but shifting explanations and new delays. Their support team continued sending conflicting updates, and it became clear that something was very wrong.

For legal reasons (and to protect ourselves from any potential defamation issues), we cannot name the company. But we can say this: we did not receive the products we paid for.

To make things more complicated, the payment was processed through a bank account in a different Asian country. Recovering the funds has been extremely difficult and, even with verified banking information, our legal team has so far been unable to retrieve the money.

At this point, it’s reasonable to say we were scammed.

Your Order Still Matters — Deeply

But here’s the part that truly matters: this situation does NOT change our responsibility to you.

You trusted us with your purchase, and we will not break that trust. Your support means more to us than the financial loss. Because of that, we are taking immediate action to make things right.

The Plan Going Forward

We’re returning to our original, trusted suppliers — the same partners who delivered our first batch of dakimakura in 2023 with excellent quality.

Due to recent tariff changes (especially affecting shipments to the U.S.), the import cost has almost doubled, making production significantly more expensive. But we are moving forward anyway.

  • We will be taking zero to negative profit per dakimakura.
  • When factoring in the funds lost to the scam, we expect to operate at a loss on this batch.

And we’re okay with that, because you deserve your dakis, and we intend to deliver them — no matter what.

A Small Request

All we ask now is a bit more patience.

Production with our trusted suppliers has already restarted, and once items are completed, we will ship them out as soon as possible.

One way or another, your dakimakura will be delivered.

Thank You — And a Final Note

Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your support during this frustrating process. We know delays are disappointing, and we don’t take your trust for granted.

As we restart production, we will be printing a few extra dakimakura as well. So if you missed the original pre-order or would like to support us further during this tough period, you can still place a dakimakura order. Every additional order genuinely helps us manage cashflow and continue delivering the quality you expect from us.

Whether you ordered already or are thinking about ordering now — thank you, truly.
